Oak Brook store showcases jewelry owned by Hollywood stars

Clark Gable's Cartier wristwatch will be among the famous jewels on display at A. Marek Fine Jewelry in Oak Brook.

Want to see the 78-carat diamond tiara Madonna wore when she married Guy Ritchie? Or Clark Gable's wristwatch? Or the jewels worn by Hollywood legends like Bing Crosby, Howard Hughes and Eva Gabor?

Just in time for the Academy Awards, these famous jewels from the Kazanjian Foundation will be on display Feb. 18 through 22 at A. Marek Fine Jewelry, 3021 Butterfield Road in Oak Brook.

There's no charge to see them, and the display will kick off with a free "Red Carpet Moments" party from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Oak Brook jewelry store. Guests will be able to walk the red carpet, enjoy complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and gawk at the famous gems.

In honor of the event, A. Marek Fine Jewelry will donate 30 percent of all sales between Feb. 16 and 22 to A Silver Lining Foundation, which provides no-cost screening mammograms, follow-up diagnostic testing and other breast cancer resources to uninsured and underinsured patients.
