Letter: Don't let Bears hold community hostage

I was afraid from the start that the McCaskeys were going to string the village of Arlington Heights and other stakeholders along until they got what they want.

Just another example of people of some level of wealth and influence having the ability to amass more at the expense of others.

First, it was not wanting to pay taxes on the value set by their purchase price. Now, they are looking elsewhere to add to this.

I am predicting this is only the beginning. I would propose to our elected officials that they put the Bears on notice that if they continue to hold this property "hostage" (give them a definite end date to have a plan in place), the village will start the eminent domain process and then do it!
