Letter: Irony toward veterans
As a veteran, I was touched by the reporting of the bipartisan group of politicians hand washing the Vietnam War Memorial and the subsequent interviews where our veterans were praised. I find it ironic, however, that these same politicians will not come together to raise the debt ceiling and pay our current debts, and then negotiate spending cuts to prevent needing to do it again. It is possible payments could be stopped to the families of the veterans that they claim to respect. Irony at its highest levels.
