Letter: Development is sellout

Winfield's "Town Center Development" consists of a new Central DuPage Hospital parking garage west of Winfield Road, a new CDH Medical building opposite village hall and a new surface parking lot, east of the new medical office building. Seems like a hospital campus expansion to me, with a few high-priced store fronts thrown in to sell the residents. With CDH providing financial support to the village each year at their discretion, how does the village ever become anything but a yes man/rubber stamp to all CDH requests? This is not development, but a complete sellout of the Village of Winfield to CDH for their parking and office space expansion needs. The residents should not be happy with hospital expansion pretending to be development.
