Letter: Disappointing column

It is disappointing that the Daily Herald would publish an inflammatory column containing deliberate lies and misinformation about being transgender.

Columns like these invite hatred and discrimination against transgender people. We don't need more misinformation that leads people to misunderstand what it means to be transgender, particularly as it relates to children. These types of false statements only cause hatred and encourage rejection of transgender people.

She stated, "I've known transgender adults who face a difficult road ahead." Transgender people face a difficult road because of people like. Saunders, who intentionally and cynically create an environment that contributes to discrimination against an already vulnerable group of people who have every right to live as themselves and be accepted for who they are, including children.
