Letter: Cars kill more than guns, so let's ban them
An article in Wednesday's business section titled "U.S. study, one year of road crashes cost society $340 billion," says a study in 2019 shows 36,500 people were killed and 4.9 million people were injured. That's more death than guns and more people injured, yet no one is calling to get rid of motor vehicles. Why?
In 2019 there were only 14,400. Deaths by guns account for a little more than half of the deaths by a motor vehicle. So let's get rid of cars especially the big ones that can do more damage.
