Letter: Your vote: Use it or lose it

Dangerous Trump-led election denier Republicans are leading efforts to deny voting rights, which are central to democracy. In 2021 and 2022, state legislatures enacted many election-interference and restrictive-voting laws the facts of which are included in the Brennan Center for Justice Voting Laws Roundup: October 2022. Don't let the balance of power slant too far toward Republicans or you could see your election rights severely altered.

Democrats like Rep. Sean Casten in the 6th Congressional District are promoting fair, safe and secure elections. Casten co-sponsored the For the People Act, the Voting Right Enhancement Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. Other Illinois Democrats, deserving of your vote, who support your right to vote include Sen. Tammy Duckworth and congressmen Bill Foster, Lauren Underwood, Raja Krishnamoorthi and Mike Quigley.

Every citizen over the age of 18 has the right to register and vote. Please register and make a plan to vote now. Go to www.vote.org for more information. Don't take your vote for granted. Every vote counts in November.
