Letter: Departures from Illinois will just continue

The Texas GOP has clearly moved to the extreme on several social issues, which is concerning.

That being said, I had a nearly 35-year career assisting corporate relocations within the same state and others relocating to other states. In those instances, my clients would analyze several factors including taxes, affordability, time zones, airport hub, employee talent and supply of the same. Additionally, many states offer financial incentives to gain new companies moving to their state.

There were many more factors included in the state-by-state comparison matrix. Although social and political issues continue to rise in importance in many decisions, the bigger business issues are not going away.

Don't think for a moment our great state of Illinois isn't in trouble. The sucking sound to vacate Illinois will only continue.
