Letter: Outdated thinking

It is interesting to me that Justice Clarence Thomas is saying his recent Supreme Court decisions are following what the authors of the Constitution actually intended and any other deviation is not guaranteed.

I do wonder if Justice Thomas reflects that if not for the forward thinking of other justices before him, he as an African American would be unable to vote, let alone sit in the bench; same limitations for the female justices; nor would Justice Thomas have been able to marry his wife.

It is time for the courts to abandon 18th century thinking.
