Letter: Expand vets' cemetery

With Veterans Affairs now in control of the Fort Sheridan cemetery, it is necessary to ask the county board to transfer five acres to expand the cemetery and keep it viable for another 50 years. We are a nation of 325 million defended by 2 million brave young men and women, and we need to ensure that their service is recognized and when the time comes, that they are properly honored. Please, if you believe in freedom and believe in the defense of this country, honor their service by transferring five acres back to the Fort Sheridan cemetery. Please call your county board member and let your views be heard.
