Let's do our part

Is anyone else disappointed in Arlington Heights not protecting restaurant workers by county-mandated vaccine verification of diners? Shame on them.

The Cook County and Suburban Cook County Departments of Public Health issued COVID-19 mitigation orders requiring all eating and drinking establishments as well as fitness centers and spas to verify proof of vaccination for patrons over age five. Not Arlington Heights. If the county, does it and Chicago, does it, it doesn't make sense for Arlington Heights not to do it. We are not an island.

Do we want to also become a safe haven for all those people who are unvaccinated throughout the county and the city to come to Arlington Heights and utilize our restaurants and our gyms and bring in an additional risk to us that wasn't here before? Will the COVID conscious stay home instead?

That's what I think. Please let Mayor Tom Hayes and our village board hear your voice.
