Response to a mom's plea offers rays of hope

A young Cole Magnus who is all of three years old, has a rare disease called Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The poor little guy cannot go out and play due to this nasty health issue.

Yet, according to news reports, a ray of hope came when his mom asked a local radio station if "some folks could send Cole a birthday card."

The rest is a positive heartwarming story. Untold strangers responded by sending Cole cards, some with monetary gifts.

Cole's illness is challenging, yet he keeps hoping, smiling and opening those cards. So far cards have come from the U.S., Canada, England and elsewhere abroad.

It seems some of us have a kind heart, and, yes, there are rays of hope and rewards for those out there who face challenging times.
