Meet library needs for all

There was quite a controversial school boarding meeting I attended Nov. 15 in District 99 about library materials available but not required reading. Parenting involves guiding young children through the various options and lifestyles in our world. Library books are like goods at the market. You may want to shop, but no one is making you buy anything. Young adults want leadership and guidelines from their parents and teachers but allowing them the freedom to consider a book to read. Discussing it with them is preparing them for the real world and we are all better for it. D99 hopes to meet the needs of every student, and this is fine by me.
