Concrete highways and empty stores

So Bragg, Sussman and the Trustees of Buffalo Grove have a "plan" to turn the Town Center strip mall into the Town Center strip mall TIF with 300 apartments and a park for gatherings. Park? There is already a park on this tract of land: Rotary Village Green with a bandstand. Just down the road is large Willow Stream Park also with a bandstand/stage.

Part of this "plan" includes bringing in an upscale grocery store which will be right across the street from the Jewel/Osco store. Do they have a vendetta against the Jewel? Why would they do this? This grocery has been the only store to remain in and loyal to Buffalo Grove since the 1960s. What are the trustees thinking? Oh, I guess they aren't. What they have managed to do is turn our neighborhood into an intersection of concrete highways and empty stores.
