From the Editor: Find the best ways to enjoy a Midwestern autumn with our Fall Fun Guide

By August, most of us lament how quickly summer seems to have slipped away in the Midwest. But suburban autumns can be pretty spectacular, too - and not just because of the photo-ready foliage.

Fall brings pumpkin patches, apple-picking and so much more. And in our annual Fall Fun guide we offer a detailed look at the festivals and events that make the season special.

This year, that guide will be in your newspaper on Aug. 29 - giving you plenty of time to scope out Oktoberfests, plan a visit to a corn maze or figure out what you are going to bake with the bushel of apples you'll pick.
