'Insurrectionists' come full circle

I have read the term "insurrection" or "insurrectionist" used to describe a date for the people involved on that infamous day. It is vaguely familiar. Oh yes, 1776 comes to mind, the British-American war. Isn't that the adjectives used to describe the colonists by King George and the British? Wasn't that "insurrection" about something as mundane as taxes? Wasn't there something called a Boston Tea Party also that comes to mind? And on Jan. 6 wasn't the only person killed an "insurrectionist" shot by Capitol Police? Took a couple hundred years but we seem to be making a big circle.
