Simple voting rules

Must we politicize everything including state voting laws? If we don't have one already, I would suggest a federal law requiring states to have their polling places open at 6 a.m. for at least 12 hours on voting day. States should also be required to provide for absentee ballots up to two weeks prior to Election Day. Other provisions for voting should be up to the individual states.
