Lake County should follow its own rules

When Buffalo Grove held meetings on the widening of Weiland Road from Lake Cook to Deerfield Parkway, I stated that no one will take care of the proposed runoff between Pope Boulevard and Pauline. They took down five houses to widen the road and to create a runoff where the houses used to be.

Lake County's highway department is supposed to take care of the runoff. They have been done with the road where the runoff is located except for planting flowers in the middle of the road.

As for the runoff, there has been no maintenance. The grass and weeds are over 18 inches tall. Vernon Township has called the county and told them they need to mow the runoff. So far, nothing.

I guess I was right about no one is going to take care of the runoff.

There are ordinances against tall grass and weeds and Lake County is violating the ordinances. If this property belonged to an individual, they would have been fined and red tagged. If you are Lake County you can get away with it. Why?
