Focus rather on a living wage

I understand the Republicans oppose many of Biden's programs to help the indigent and working man achieve a life of human dignity by opposing the minimum wage. Actually, a minimum wage is insufficient.

American workers, heads of household, need much more than that - a living wage.

Ever since Ronald Reagan squawked about so-called welfare cheats, the wages of working men and women have been deteriorating. As a grouping, the earnings of corporate CEO's and upper management (the top tenth of the top 1%) have risen to over 85% of the nation's wealth.

This inequity must end if there is to be any prevention of an insurrection that will make Trump's in January look like a romp in the park.

The needs and desires of the corporate world with its tax breaks for the superrich interfere with the needs and desires of those who work 40 hours a week. There needs to be a reversal in our thinking, human needs topping corporate needs. In a Democratic republic it is the government's obligation in fairness to help the people achieve the buying power they need to maintain economic stability.

Republicans with a conscience, respect the American Constitution and what it means. Share your wealth. Insist on living wages for all workers.

The real ethical concern is not that economic help will promote a disincentive to work, but that the working poor do not earn enough to live on.
