Country over party

To my fellow Illinois Republicans: Is this it? Is this what you want? Do you think this is good for us?

Allow me a brief recap of our history over the last few years. In 2015, before the former president launched his run, Illinois had a Republican governor, treasurer, a federal senator, and two additional members of Congress. I don't have to tell you what happened next. 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2021 have been nothing but electoral defeats. We are losing a congressional seat and based on the Democrats' biased and nontransparent redistricting process, it will be another GOP member who will be drawn out. Despite all of this, I continue to hear Trump is the future of the party.

Rep. Liz Cheney was the keynote speaker at the 12th annual Northwest Suburban Republican Lincoln Day Dinner in April of 2019. Many of the same people who welcomed her and cheered her I now see on social media claiming she is the problem because she correctly states Donald Trump launched an insurrection against our government after months of denying the election and obstructing the results of the most secure election in history.

I stand with Liz Cheney, for the truth, and for the constitution of our Great United States of America. I'm not going to stop being a Republican because charlatans and sycophants of the disgraced former president decided the rule of law was something to be tossed aside for an illegitimate power grab.

Any Illinois Republican who wants to try and pull that will have to face the truth and they have to face me and people like, who will not let their lies go unchallenged. I know that the Constitution is stronger than Trump, and it's time to remind my fellow Republicans that we must always choose country over party.
