A reason for pity

Donald Trump has taught me compassion. As a mostly politically left voter, never would I have thought to feel sorry for former Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions (whose support helped get Trump into the White House), or for the very conservative Wyoming representative Liz Cheney, or for a man who built a career on supporting conservative values, former Vice President Mike Pence. But I truly feel sorry for them now, after they all have been thrown so brutally under the Trump bus because they made the mistake of not realizing that what Trump wants is not merely loyalty, but absolute obedience.
