Ready to serve again

I have many friends in Dist. 59 and enjoy the nearly 20 hours a week on meetings, committees, emails and considerable reading. My three decades of board service I hope will be of help to our new superintendent in making her adjustment and also encouraging her work on a new curriculum.

My most sincere thanks go to my neighbors and associates, our teachers and other personnel, the DEA for their endorsement, friends ... both old and new, community members who have seen me in action at board meetings and know my values and all the people who passed out campaign literature, wrote articles for the newspaper, displayed my signs and just generally spread the word about me.

I will strive to express myself carefully but thoroughly on issues of importance to our district. Different points of view are essential so that all sides are heard and considered.

Of course, our students are of prime importance and all of them must be given what they need to succeed at appropriate levels with feelings of accomplishment. We offer a public education paid for by the taxpayers. All they expect in return are satisfactory and realistic results by students on special tests and state exams which affect their property value.

Again, thank you to all of you for your faith in me.
