Pragmatic listener

Amy Somary will be an incredible trustee of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. She brings understanding and know-how to help make us a stronger community. Public relations executive, Northwestern University graduate, mother of four boys and current elementary school educator, Amy knows the value and importance of libraries in the lives of our families and overall well-being of our village.

Amy Somary is pragmatic, forward-thinking and an excellent listener. She is approachable and will recognize what the community desires from library services. She will work for the benefit of all residents of Arlington Heights. Amy is inclusive in her thought-process and decision-making.

As a trustee, she will assist and collaborate in setting direction, providing guidance and supporting leadership staff. Amy understands that our taxes fund the library and will provide oversight and accountability to ensure limited resources are allocated in the most efficient and effective manner.

Her past performance and experience as an elected school board member with budget oversight, demonstrates her ability to balance delivering on an organization's needs within financial constraints. Amy has chaired large fundraising events to help achieve fiscal goals. She is both a "doer" and a "leader" and has been actively involved with organizations like PTA, PADs, Feed my Starving Children, Boosters and Christian Family Movement, where she volunteered and also served in various leadership roles.

Amy brings the right balance of fiscal oversight, leadership, innovative thinking and is not afraid to roll up her sleeves to get the job done.

Join me in voting for Amy Somary as trustee for our award-winning, five-star, Arlington Heights Memorial Library.
