Plenty to celebrate here

Just wanted to say how nice it was to read the column by a newcomer to Illinois, Megha Lackhchaura of EVBox Group, newly relocated from New York to Libertyville's former Motorola campus, now Innovation Park. Her company recently laid down roots here because it believes in the promise of the Chicagoland location, workforce and economy. That's why I moved here many years ago. I have not been disappointed.

This is a great counterpoint to all the sob stories we keep hearing about people leaving for southern states because of high taxes, weather, and so on. As someone who's helped countless people move to this great metropolitan area, I can say that most newcomers are expectant and excited even if a little nervous. There are many far less appealing places to set up and live, so let's celebrate this win along with Megha.
