Where are statesmen?

We have taxes. We have regulations. We have corruption. But now the final indignity. Some of my friends who moved out of Illinois when they retired received COVID vaccines yesterday, while I can't even find out when, or if, I'll get one in the foreseeable future.

Why is this happening? First, we have Trump, who turned down 90 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine when he had a chance to purchase them and didn't have time to set up a national distribution system because he was too busy orchestrating the overthrow of the United States government. Second, our Illinois politicians are too busy fighting over who controls the House of Representatives and shutting down businesses using somewhat questionable science rather than organizing a state distribution system.

This is a national emergency and our leaders seem to act as if it was "business as usual." When we will stop electing politicians who are only concerned with self-enrichment and power and start electing statesmen who actually care about the people they serve?
