Criminal justice bill hampers police

The Illinois legislature last week passed a crime bill that is now awaiting Gov. Pritzker's signature. The items in this bill further hamper the ability of police to defend themselves or the public while at the same time enables criminals to act with far less fear of being held accountable. In essence the bill adds further credence to the feeling that residents cannot ensure the safety of themselves or their families. This is a major reason why so many are leaving. This bill provides yet another reason to leave while providing fewer reasons to stay. Please contact Gov. Pritzker to veto this bill and your state legislators to amend it.
