What promotes distrust

The Republican National Party and the Michigan Republican Party issued a joint statement Nov. 21 asking for a delay of certification of Joe Biden's Michigan win. The statement read, in part, that certification would leave "the distrust and sense of procedural disenfranchisement felt by many Michigan voters to fester for years." The only thing promoting distrust in the electoral system is the GOP's shameful support of Donald Trump's baseless claims that the election was stolen. Their legal cases are being thrown out of court around the country with predictable regularity. It's time for Republicans to stand up to their spoiled, petulant child of a president and show some respect for the American electoral system and for the American people.
