Politics in microcosm

The two comments published in the Aug. 28 "Your Views" section offered a stark and illuminating contrast. One writer, after expressing reservations about the president's personal style, offers numerous examples of policies the writer believes have been beneficial to the country. The other writer begins by decrying "Trump's lies," but cites none. It appears to be "consider these ideas and decide for yourself" versus "believe me," which might be a microcosm of our current national debate.
