Racial re-branding
So the managers of the Quaker Brands division of PepsiCo have decided to end production of its Aunt Jemima brand pancake mix products. It's about time after 130 years. Sadly, it took the death of George Floyd and a week of rioting and burning across the country to make them come to their senses.
In the spirit of diversity, I believe this represents an opportunity for a nod to white privilege. Perhaps the re-branded pancake products will be named "Aunt Muffy's Pancake Formula." Blond "Aunt Muffy" would be pictured in her personal training garb (with pearls, of course). The tagline on the various related products would read "Make it easy for your cook to prepare breakfast for the twins, Biff and Trip, while you are at tennis lessons."
I can hardly wait.
