'Rights' and 'freedom' in a time of sacrifice

Anne Frank spent 271 days in a secret annex where she and her family could not even speak or move around during the day. All we are asked to do is binge Netflix and get takeout.

We, as a society, accepted long ago that individual "rights" are subordinated to public health and safety, which is why we can't smoke in public places or drive our own vehicles after consuming alcoholic beverages.

The exercise of individual "freedom" without regard for the lives of others is the worst form of tyranny, something against which our fathers and grandfathers fought and died.
