Scout memories
I read with interest Mr. Farley's article in the Friday. March 20, Daily Herald. I too was a Boy Scout (and a Cub Scout before that). Like the author, I too did not make it to Eagle (I was a few merit badges short of First Class - had a devil of a time with knot tying). Had some great experiences, though, and no trouble as in recent years. One memorable trip was having to vacate our campsite on a Saturday night due to a tornado. We came back the next day for our equipment. Coincidentally the Camp-O-Ree (sp) was at Windlake, Wicsonsin.
