Crisis will show our inherent values

"Is humanity prepared for the coronavirus? The state of Illinois has reported hundreds of confirmed cases of COVID-19. Many places of public assembly have taken action to avoid the spread of the virus. There are many groups of the population that direct themselves to different interests. It doesn't matter what those interests are because the root of all of them falls into the basic needs of a society to survive.

A number of workers ask for help during this outbreak, many of them wonder if they are temporarily laid off because the place where they work is temporarily closed because of the COVID-19 virus. I am part of this group of people with a great interest in applying for unemployment benefits.

Many low-income families might restore their faith in the Illinois Department of Employment Security, which announced emergency rules to support workers and their families during the crisis.

I want to restore my faith in humanity. While another individual suffers little or no ill effects, others have memories of their loved ones who passed away. I am not prepared to see a reduction of the human person to an animalistic approach that will promote the consideration of the interests of all animals.

Is humanity ready to change tomorrow? The common interest of society will always direct itself to the common good of all. However, people become selfish when their desire to survive is affected by an unexpected obstacle. The coronavirus will show the world if humanity is prepared to demonstrate that humans are inherently good."
