'Sleazefest' questions

I agree with Les Lopinot's opinion in the "Super 'sleazefest' " letter that much of the Super Bowl half-time show was disgusting. According to Alexander Hamilton, the people is a beast; unfortunately, the beast has developed an appetite for all things extreme.

I had a few questions about the letter, though.

First, why is the ethnicity of the performers relevant to the point being made, and why did the editors not delete this reference before publishing? Second, the age of these women seemed to offend the writer. Is the issue that women of a certain age ought to know better than to put on the performance they did?

Or are we women supposed to dress in sweatpants and stay home to cook and clean after we've achieved a certain number of years and some extra pounds? Just curious.
