What explains attitude of Republicans?

I can only imagine that our Republican Senators must have recently undergone painful surgery. Why else would they be unable to think clearly?

To understand the importance of witnesses with firsthand knowledge of exactly happened with Ukraine? Have no curiosity to secure more information?

What other reason would they not want a transparent, fair and decent trial to present to their constituents- the American people?

I prefer to believe that there must be some painful physical occurrence. Otherwise I would have to think that our Republican senators have been compromised and are complicit in some very dangerous actions bent on destroying our democracy and defiling our Constitution.
