Dems have proved disastrous for Illinois

It is inevitable that conversations today lead to heated political debates. People ask me if I will vote Democratic because of Trump's actions. No doubt, I do not like everything Trump does. But I have to look at the facts.

In Illinois the Democratic Party has controlled the state for more than 50 years. The result of their leadership and control is a state that is technically bankrupt and the city of Chicago not far behind. The city of Chicago has one of the highest murder rates in the country. We pay one of the highest property tax and sales tax in the country. Our infrastructure is failing and our social services are severely underfunded.

Our Democratic leadership's, particularly J.B. Pritzker's and Mike Madigan's, response to this crisis is "we need to make the rich pay more." But their real action does not back that up. What they did do is triple the gas taxes and significantly raise car registration fees. They also raised Uber fees and put additional taxes on car trade-in values. These are just a few of the many taxes and fees the Democratic leadership has unfairly imposed on its citizens. Those actions severely impact the poor, elderly and middle class.

Then Pritzker wants to introduce more vices to pay for his programs. He is increasing gambling which preys on the poor and elderly. We legalize marijuana, another inhalant with similar medical issue to vaping. Again this targets our youth. What's next, legalizing prostitution and dog fighting?

Clearly our Democratic leaders and their supporters care more for money and power than the well-being of children, poor, elderly, small business and overall citizens.

Illinois has clearly demonstrated that a Democrat-run government leads to failure, higher taxes, high crime rates, population decline and financial hardships for all its citizens. Who in the world would vote for that?
