Parties a mess

There were no political parties in the first election of 1788. A Federalist was only someone who supported ratification of the Constitution. George Washington strongly opposed the formation of political parties.

He warned they would be dangerous and destructive to democracy. He never joined one.

The current Republican and Democratic parties are both huge messes. Neither gives hope of being able to properly run the country.

They need to work respectfully together for the sake of the country and democracy, but nobody understands that concept anymore.

The parties can only snarl everything up with fighting over power. Too little that is positive is getting done by the government. The current mess is exactly what George Washington foresaw.

The choices in the coming election look no better that they were in 2016. Many do not like Trump but will still vote for him because the other choices are bad. If we vote out everyone in the government, there are too few better people to replace them with. How do we say that enough is enough? How do we bring the kind of change that is needed? I really don't know.
