Can't we just be honest?

It's great to want to be a leader, or should I say "politician"? However, becoming a "politician" has its responsibilities.

First of all, we, the public, expect the politicians to be upfront and honest with us. So far, none have met these expectations. Let's take the gas tax as an example: Who do you think this tax affects the most? The middle class. The blue-collar workers. By doubling the gas tax, it puts a big hole in their pockets.

Under Gov. Dan Walker, the lottery was started to solely fund education, but it did not. That's why our Education funds are lacking. If our present governor would look at other ways to fund our systems, we the middle class would be much happier. You can only get so much blood out of a turnip.

All of our governors since Walker have circumvented these funds and have caused our funding categories to be thrown out of wack.

Our roads and bridges are in dire need of repairs, but let's think of better solutions, not rob the middle class so heavily. Generations to come will suffer.
