A year ago today, a gunman opened fire in the newsroom of the Capital Gazette newspaper of Annapolis, Maryland. Five people were killed and at least one seriously wounded. In the aftermath of the shootings, the community established a memorial Capital Gazette Families Fund for the newsroom, families of the victims and community healing.
