Graduate first to spending restraint
Columnist Ralph Martire seems to be shining a light on the wrong issue. Which is that the taxpayers have been sending their hard-earned tax dollars to Springfield for generations, and our elected officials have not been fiscally responsible for these monies.
That anyone would argue that increasing the taxes on any taxpayers makes fiscal sense is illogical given the track record.
If/when the officials actually work together, develop and implement some serious cost saving plans that show genuine fiscal skill, then, maybe, they can discuss increases.
Although if they were seriously fiscally adept, increases would only occasionally be needed due to growth or deterioration.
Sending more good money from anyone is irresponsible. Let's "graduate" to professional fiscal management vs. pure politics.
