A world of distance in 150 miles

My name is Paul Dombrowski and I live in Palatine. My husband Joe and I are currently traveling throughout Malaysia on vacation.

A few months ago the Sultan of Brunei announced anyone suspected or found to be homosexual would be stoned to death. Right now, Joe and I are 150 miles from the border of Brunei and we are homosexuals.

Think about it. Just 150 miles away, our lives have no value.

This is why everyone must take a stand for LGBTQ+ rights worldwide. Trump has been chipping away at those LGBTQ+ rights put into law by previous administrations. We all must stand up and fight. June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month. March with a group in a Pride parade, tell someone that the comment they made was homophobic or transphobic, tell your LGBTQ+ child you love them unconditionally, tell a co-worker you are an ally and will join them in their fight, and most importantly vote in the upcoming election.

150 miles is horrifying.
