Cubs alienating themselves from fan base

While I was never a true Cub fan, I nevertheless followed them over the years as a devoted baseball junkie. For one thing they were so accessible via free TV and radio and they had so many legendary broadcasters.

And Mr. Wrigley smartly stayed out of the business of running the team, realizing that he knew far less about baseball than chewing gum.

But now all bets are off, the Ricketts family is seemingly consumed with making money and associating themselves with political causes.

By starting their own network in the near future and aligning themselves with a notoriously right-wing brand (Sinclair), they are slowly alienating themselves from a fan base that deserves much better.

What's that famous saying about killing the golden goose, especially the one that's wearing a Cubbie blue uniform?
