America's moral values are eroding

Most Americans are familiar with the Ten Commandments. While many may know about them, they cannot quote them. It's also obvious that many people do not adhere to them.

Advertising, television shows, movies and mainstream media over time have helped harden the conscience of this nation. Advertising encourages coveting, while well-known television actors ignore the ban on adultery, fornication and murder. How many in a television series, or movie today honor their parents? God's guidance in today's society is repeatedly shown in mocking ways.

The eyes and ears are key to one's heart. Whatever one sees and listens to goes into the heart. Thus, it's not surprising that the moral conscience of America has been hardened, given the plethora of material that has been released into the airways and society.

For advertising, television shows, movies and mainstream media, it seems virtually anything goes versus the moral guidance of the Ten Commandments. They push the theme, that no matter what lifestyle, it's now acceptable because they create the norms. This thinking is perverse and repudiates the belief in God.

Our Founding Fathers would not agree with the moral direction of America. George Washington, James Madison, John Jay and others saw the exceptional importance of our Judeo-Christian values in government and society. America must morally reverse course, or it will not stand. America is in great need of prayer.
