This is not science

I was somewhat amused to read that the Trump administration intends to create a group of "select federal scientists to reassess the government's analysis of climate science and counter its conclusions that the continued burning of fossil fuels is harming the planet."

My education stressed the importance of the scientific method and the need for objectivity. A true assessment would look at what's happening in the real world, then without bias, try to determine the cause. In this case, the administration is taking its preconceived notion and trying to defend it.

This isn't "scientific" by any means, and in fact, underscores the White House's contempt for real science.

Amusing in a way … but really sad.
