Endorsement for Prospect Heights City Council: Cloud, Quinn

Aldermanic seats are being contested in two of Prospect Heights' five wards - one on the ballot, one via a serious write-in challenge.

In Ward 3, we endorse former Chicago Executive Airport Board member Betty Cloud. In many ways, this race is a tossup. She and her opponent, City Clerk Wendy Morgan-Adams are fairly close in their views on the major issues. But we like Cloud's emphasis on communication and citizen engagement. Both are keys to accomplishing the city's toughest tasks.

In Ward 2, we endorse Kathleen "Kathi" Quinn, secretary of the Rob Roy Country Club Village condo board. She's collaborative and her positions are well thought-out. She puts a priority on infrastructure investments and that makes sense. Former Alderman John Styler is running as a write-in candidate; while we appreciate his years of service, his campaign has struggled to articulate a concrete vision.

Kathi Quinn is a candidate for Prospect Heights city council.
