We should respect right to hold opposing views

I want to thank the Daily Herald for publishing balanced opinions when it comes to our president. I have read, and not by coincidence that there are people who believe our president is incompetent and yet I have read others who are thanking God that Donald Trump is our president. Publishing opinions on both sides is representative of our country and the people who have views on such matters.

I genuinely believe that the free press, such as the Daily Herald, should remain neutral and report the news from our president and not actively try to publish stories or opinions that lean left or right. Thank you.

However, I must bring up a point from Mr. Ley's idea of Mr. Trump. I disagree with Mr. Ley, but I do not contend that Mr. Ley does not understand the big picture. I respect his view. This is the problem in our country. The "I am right and you are an idiot" syndrome that has become so prevalent in our society.

I believe President Trump is entirely unqualified to be president. I possess the right to have that view, without being called an idiot or being told I do not understand the big picture. I believe I appreciate the big picture, and I try to put it in some historical perspective. I try to read all the time on this very subject. I take President Trump for who he is and the decisions he makes one at a time. I agree with his decision on Syria but do not like how he went about making the decision.

The problem in this country is an erratic president, but also people in my village and around our country who are not willing to listen to views however different they are from their own.
