An alternative to politics as usual

Nick Stella, raised in Darien, a graduate of Benedictine University in Lisle, then onto Loyola University to both earn his M.D. and training will be a breath of fresh air to represent the 11th District in Congress. His political philosophy is to change the current "politics as usual" arena to an "alternative to politics as usual" arena. Excellent outcomes can be achieved with common sense and hard work.

As a physicist, present Rep. Foster is out-of-touch with real people, the real world, and real concerns affecting the people of the 11th District. A favorite issue of his is climate change. However, he fails to recognize the importance of numerous differing opinions from scientists in the U.S. and the entire world. While this issue may excite Foster, he is tone deaf to more immediate needs of the people: jobs, economy, safety. One need not go any further than looking at his voting record to cite a few examples:

• Voted NO to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act;

• Voted NO to the Protect and Serve Act of 2018; the only no vote from all Illinois Democrats/Republicans;

• Voted NO to the Save Local Business Act;

• Voted NO to the Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act;

• Voted NO to the Make America Secure Appropriations Act; and

• Voted NO to the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act.

These are but a few examples from Rep. Foster's voting record. He has refused to provide voters with positions on key issues covered by the 2018 Political Courage Test, despite repeated requests from Vote Smart and voters like you. While he can opine on climate change, he fails to provide his position on this, and many much more important issues.

Vote Nick Stella, the alternative to politics as usual.
