Wheeling District 21 board has shown it can be trusted

Through thick and thin, our school district has stood up for the taxpayers and done what is best for us while still maintaining great schools for our kids. Even in times of financial hardship, Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 tightened their belts, stuck to their fiscally responsible plan and improved the district's financial status and rating.

Most school districts would use those difficult periods as an excuse to increase taxes, but not Wheeling District 21. Our district took the more difficult path and tightened their belts, which showed respect to our hard-earned tax dollars. We are lucky that our district has always been on our side.

With their proven track record, there is no need to doubt them now. They have shown that we can be confident that their decisions will be in our, the taxpayers', best interest, which gives me the confidence that our school district will continue managing our tax dollars wisely.

The referendum that Wheeling District 21 has put on our ballots is a no brainer. Not only will it benefit our children and schools, but it also looks out for the taxpayers like they have always done. The referendum will fund making our schools more efficient, saving us tax dollars for years to come.

In fact, while other school districts I've seen are going to the taxpayers for huge amounts of money for new schools, our district is instead focusing on responsibly maintaining our schools for significantly less money.

That's what I've come to expect from our fiscally responsible school district. That's why I'm voting yes on the District 21 referendum.
