Pay attention to judges on ballot

Our Cook County courts should work for you, me, and everyone. Take a moment and think about the Cook County court system. If your initial thoughts are like mine, you probably think of a slow judicial system, with a backlog of cases. You think of judges who may not always have the best interests of everyday people in mind. Why is that? It's because of stories we've seen on the news and stories we've heard from friends, family, neighbors, or maybe even from personal experience.

Shouldn't our courts be working for all of us? People shouldn't have to wait for months, sometimes even years, to get the justice they deserve, but that is often how it works in Cook County. And our judges ought to be fair and impartial in how they deliver that justice. This is how justice is supposed to work.

That's why it is so important for all of us to pay attention to the judicial candidates on our ballots. Despite the constant din of political news, we rarely get information on the judicial candidates. I urge you to seek out information on these candidates, because the only way we are going to fix the court system in Cook County is if we elect judges who will work for us.

One of those candidates for Cook County judge who deserves your consideration is Dan Fitzgerald. His campaign message is to "make the Cook County courts work for everyone," and he has the experience and personality to make that happen. This is a candidate we can all get behind.
