Endorsement: Patrician for Kane County Board District 23
Democrat Chris Kious and Republican Jim Patrician, both of Algonquin, are vying to succeed county board member Maggie Auger, who is not running for re-election, in District 23. A longtime nonpartisan activist, Kious hopes to do more for his community as an elected official. Patrician, an employee benefits adviser, is chairman of the zoning and planning commission in Algonquin. Patrician's municipal experience gives him a slight edge over Kious, and we endorse him. But we also encourage Kious to continue to seek elected office.
