Endorsement: Martin for Kane County Board District 11

Kane County Board District 11 candidates present two solid choices for voters with incumbent Republican John Martin, a retired attorney, and Democrat Jody Kanikula, a clinical social worker. Martin, of Geneva, has served one term and says he'd serve no more than two. Kanikula, of Batavia, said her first county meeting left such an indelible mark after hearing about jail conditions and how inmates and workers needed help that she had to get involved. She has plenty of pep and we encourage the precinct committee person to stay involved. She says Martin is a "diligent" board member. We agree. He was instrumental in reclaiming Settler's Hill landfill as a forest preserve and cross-country course. He is a strong board member by any definition. Martin is endorsed.
